The 3 little Churches of Faith Ev. Lutheran-Duncansville PA, Barley Ev. Lutheran-New Enterprise, PA, Faith Ev. Lutheran-Hollidaysburg, PA together have held steady when others declared we were too small to be viable. We were the core congregations to launch the Evangelical Lutheran Conference & Ministerium of North America, Inc. known as ELCM in September 1999. Together we have faithfully sought to proclaim God's Word and to offer the Sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion. We do not understand numbers to be the key but acknowledge that only two or three gathered together around the Word of God and the Sacraments (means of Grace) are necessary for the Church (and congregations) to be alive and well. Visitors are always welcome to come check us out or with this Web sites areas to engage with us in conversation and discussion.

After Worshipping and meeting for 4 years in a rental facility we were able to purchase this first Building.  Our members renovated the Interior into a lovely Church.  Here we have met since 1995.  7:45 A.M. The Barley Lutheran Church, 250 Barley Church Road, New Enterprise, PA was the 2nd of our little Congregations to form as a Mission Congregation of our First Faith Lutheran Congregation. We worship here at 9:30 A.M. each Sunday.
The Barley Church Facility was closed for 12 years when we opened the new Congregation.  This 2nd Congregation of our little Parish was launched in December 1992. Pictured in front of the Church doors are two visiting Pastors from Andhra Pradesh, India.

Maintaining Basics of the Past and Working Towards a Brighter Future
We are three small congregations of the Evangelical Lutheran Conference & Ministerium of North America, Inc. (ELCM) located in the Blair and Bedford Counties of Pennsylvania. We understand our central function to be Sharing God's Word both as LAW AND AS GOSPEL. Weekly Worship is known by the German word "Gottesdienst" which means "God's Service to us." We affirm all of Canonical Scripture as the Immutable and Inerrant Word of God to mankind and hold that the Documents of the entire Christian Book of Concord is a Correct setting forth of the Doctrines of Holy Scripture.

The Motto of The first successfully established Lutheran Synod in North America and its Founder, Rev. Heinrich Melchior Muhlenberg was "Ecclesia Plantanda" (The Church must be Planted).
All Three of our little congregations began as Mission Plantings and so our Motto is "Ecclesia Re-Plantanda" (The Church must be replanted) and in our understanding it must be replanted around the focus of Dr. Luther "What does the Word of God Say?" or based in and on "Sola Verba Dei" (only upon the Word of God) which is the "Sola Scriptura" (only Scripture) Reformation focus.
In our Content page be sure to read the paper by Dr. Oliver Olson "Luther's catholic Minimum). This Scholarly paper addresses the Lutheran understanding of Holy Communion but also gives focus to the "Sola Verba" understanding of Luther and the Reformers.
